Krupnik - Barley Soup
Traditional Polish barley soup with vegetables and meat. Thick, nutritious, and warming. Medieval origins, still popular today. Hearty one-pot meal.

Ingredients
- 200 g Pearl barley
- 400 g Pork shoulder
- 3 medium Potatoes
- 2 medium Carrots
- 150 g Celery root
- 15 g Dried mushrooms
Instructions
Cook pork in 2.5L water 60 min.
Add rinsed barley, cook 20 min.
Add diced vegetables and mushrooms, simmer 30 min.
Remove meat, dice, return to pot.
Season generously.
Serve hot with bread.

Rinse barley thoroughly before cooking. Soup thickens significantly - add water as needed.
