About Polish Cuisine
A passion for Polish cooking, coded into every recipe
My Mission
Polish Cuisine is more than just a recipe website. It's a digital love letter to my family's kitchen - a personal project where I share the recipes I learned from my mom and grandma, passed down through generations of home cooking.
I believe that Polish cuisine is a national treasure that deserves to be accessible to everyone - both to Poles living abroad longing for the taste of home, and to foreigners eager to discover the authentic flavors of Poland. That's why I'm building this platform, one recipe at a time.
My Vision
"My grandmother's ΕΌurek recipe, scribbled on a yellowed piece of paper, shouldn't disappear when she's gone. My mom's pierogi technique, learned through years of Sunday afternoons in the kitchen, deserves to live on. That's why I'm building this - to preserve these precious family recipes and share them with the world."
My goal is simple: document every recipe I learned from my family, make them accessible to anyone who wants to experience authentic Polish home cooking, and build a digital archive where tradition meets modern technology.
The Creator
My name is Damian and I'm a native Pole who grew up in a kitchen filled with the aromas of freshly baked bread, chicken noodle soup, and stuffed pierogi. These childhood memories and flavors inspired me to create this platform.
As a programmer and culinary enthusiast, I combined these two passions to create a modern digital space that preserves the spirit of Polish cuisine for future generations.
What Makes This Different?
- π΅Real Family Recipes:
These aren't recipes from cookbooks or restaurants. Every dish here is something I actually learned to make from my mom and grandma in our family kitchen.
- π Home Cooking, Not Professional:
This is authentic Polish home cooking - the kind you'd find in a Polish household on Sunday afternoon, not in a fancy restaurant.
- π»Solo Project with Heart:
Built and maintained by one person who cares deeply about preserving family traditions. No corporate team, no marketing agenda - just genuine passion for Polish cuisine.
- π΅π±Personal Stories:
Many recipes come with the stories behind them - memories from childhood, family gatherings, and the people who taught me these dishes.
- π§Modern Features for Traditional Food:
Portion calculators, shopping lists, print-friendly versions - bringing grandma's recipes into the digital age while respecting their authenticity.
What I Stand For
π΅ Family First
Every recipe honors the women who taught me to cook - my mom and grandma.
π― No Modifications
I share recipes exactly as I learned them. No "healthy versions" or shortcuts.
β€οΈ Honesty
If something takes 3 hours, I'll tell you. If a dish is difficult, I won't pretend it's easy.
π΅π± Cultural Pride
Sharing Polish cuisine with the world because it deserves to be known and celebrated.
What's Next?
I'm just getting started. There are still dozens of recipes from my mom and grandma that I want to document and share. Here's what I'm working on:
- Adding more family recipes (I have a notebook full of them!)
- Recording cooking videos so you can see the techniques in action
- Sharing the stories behind each dish - the memories and traditions
- Building features to make cooking easier (timers, offline access, etc.)
- Translating to other languages so more people can discover Polish cuisine
- Maybe one day, publishing a cookbook with all these family treasures
Your feedback means everything to me. When you comment on a recipe, share your own family version, or tell me about memories these dishes bring back - that's what keeps me motivated to continue this project.
